Duke Amnesty International USA Write for Rights + Persepolis Film Screening

Duke Amnesty International is a chapter of the global Amnesty International organization which works to build a world in which all people are guaranteed their fundamental human rights. We are independent, non-partisan, and do not accept money from governments. Join us to engage in collective activism for issues you care about like freeing the wrongfully-imprisoned, ending US weapons sales that support war crimes, pushing back against censorship, fighting for reproductive rights, and more.

Join us this Sunday for our annual Write for Rights! Write for Rights is a global campaign where millions of activists write letters to get justice for 10 specific human rights defenders, prisoners of conscience, and ordinary people who are facing wrongful imprisonment, torture, or threats to their safety. Every year, people are freed!

While writing letters, we will watch the movie Persepolis, based on a graphic novel of a young girl's life during the Islamic Revolution. This is the perfect event to get involved, especially if you've never joined us before! We are inviting the entire Duke community to come write letters with us!
