Mission Fellowship: To engender Christian fellowship between Black seminarians, the larger Divinity School, the University and the Durham community.Education: To ensure the development of theological perspectives, commensurate with traditions of the Black Church and further, to educate the larger community regarding Black Church traditions, theology and experiences in America.Unity: To foster intentional cooperation between the BSU, the Office of Black Church Studies, Black faculty, and the Black Graduate and Professional Student Association; to maintain ties with Black Divinity School Alumni; and to foster unity between all seminarians regardless of sex, race, and nationality realizing that we are all a part of God's creation.Support: To serve as an agency of support and advocacy to meet the academic, spiritual, and social needs of Black Seminarians.The Black Seminarians Union adheres to the policy of non-discrimination and harassment as set forth in Duke's Policy on Prohibited Discrimination, Harassment, and Related Misconduct.
