Dear HAND members,
Professor Sarah Wilbur here (faculty advisor to HAND, and Associate Professor Dance and Theater Studies). I hope that everyone is well and in good spirits.
I am writing the full HAND membership to raise awareness of a Bass Connections project team that I'm leading next year (AY26-27), currently seeking graduate and undergraduate members.
The team is called, "Movment is the Method: Dancing Inroads to Creative Care" and no dance experience is required to participate. I have attached an FAQ sheet, and additional team information is available here.
There is a credit-bearing tutorial that accompanies the class, which meets on Fridays in Fall (1:25-3:55pm). Members are also encouraged (but not required) to enroll in my context setting lecture class in Fall 2026, entitled: Dance 371S: Artists in Healthcare: Collaborations and Complexities, cross listed in Music, VMS, TheaterStudies, and Global Health.
The deadline for student applications to Bass Connections is this coming Monday, February 9, at 5 p.m.
Here is the link to apply!
In motion,
Sarah Wilbur (she/hers), M.F.A., Ph.D.
Associate Professor of the Practice, Dance and Theater Studies
Director of Graduate Studies in Dance
