As an extension to our 2025 Summer Transition Series webinar sessions, we are excited to announce immersive, in-person Welcome Events!
Welcome Events are designed:
- For first-year incoming Graduate and Professional students at Duke University.
- To foster a sense of belonging for graduate and professional students with Duke University in addition to unique academic programs.
- To facilitate a pathway for students to build interdepartmental connections with other graduate and professional students at Duke.
DUKE GARDENS & NASHER MUSEUM
DukeArts presents tours of the majestic Duke Gardens and the Nasher Museum. Explore the beauty of the renowned Sarah P. Duke Gardens and sample the world-class exhibits at the Nasher Museum of Art. Conclude with lunch and an immersive arts activity.

There is no cost to attend. The tours, lunch, and art activity are free.

This is an in-person activity. Please only register if you can be in Durham, NC, on August 7, 2025. Space is limited.

Participants should wear supportive walking shoes, deodorant, and breathable clothing for the tour of the Gardens.

Carry and wear sunscreen. Bring other sun protection like sunglasses or a wide-brimmed hat. Afternoons during the summer can be very hot (32°C-38°C).

Bring a sweater or hoodie for the Nasher Museum. The museum is air-conditioned and may be cold after the heat of the Gardens.

Tue, Jul 22: Registration will open. All registrants will initially be on the waitlist.

Wed, July 30: Selected students will be notified via promotion from waitlist.
