Our Mission

Duke NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) seeks to provide a community space to engage in peer support, discussion, advocacy, education, and public awareness so that individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

Mental Health Resources

  • DuWell

    - 17 "Moments of Mindfulness" programs running every week, same day, same times. No fee, no RSVP

    - In person, Sun - Thur, 4-9 PM

    - BASICS: appointment-based program to provide students who experienced adverse alcohol/substance use with resources. It is NOT counseling--just a casual interview to encourage positive changes in behavior

    - Provides free STI testing, sex supplies

    - Gender Violence EDucation and Outreach programs to increase awareness about gender violence

  • Duke LINE

    - An anonymous mental health peer support textline for Duke undergrad, grad, and professional students

    - Coaches are trained students under the guidance of Dr. Zucker

    - Mon through Fri + Sun, 5-11pm; Sat 5-8 pm

  • Duke Reach

    - A nonclinical case management service for students experiencing significant challenges due to mental, physical, social, etc health

    - If you are concerned about another student's health/behavior, you can submit a DukeReach report here

  • Blue Devils Care (TImely Care)

    - 24/7 Mental telehealth service with a licensed clinician in NC

    - Requires medical information beforehand

    - Duke provides 12 free sessions per year for counseling sessions
