Additional buses will begin running between East and West as soon as ExO Projects end at 11am.

Boxed Lunch Distribution (Pratt and Constellations) - 11:30am

Students in Pratt and Constellations can pick up their lunches at this time. Your specific lunch location was emailed to you in your Pratt or Constellations email. FOCUS students will have lunch provided in their lunch location at noon.

Academic Preparation Lunches: Pratt, Constellations, and FOCUS - 12:00pm-2:00pm

Join faculty members and peers in your Constellation, across FOCUS, or within Pratt. Faculty and staff are excited to welcome you to your first-year experience academic home. This gathering is a wonderful opportunity to connect with peers, meet your professors, and begin building your intellectual community before classes start.

Academic Preparation Sessions – 2:00pm-5:00pm

These sessions are designed to help you feel confident and prepared for your first week of classes. All events are located on East Campus.

Peer Support and Guidance - 2:00pm-5:00pm (Your residence hall common room)

Get advice and support from upperclass mentors before classes begin. Resident Assistants will be available to help you read campus maps, locate your classrooms, and answer any lingering questions. Stop by, get oriented, and head into your first day feeling confident and prepared!

Academic Advising and Support - 2:00pm-5:00pm (Academic Advising Center, East Campus)

Students with specific questions related to the first week of classes can drop in for one-on-one advising support or who have an incomplete schedule and need assistance. Trinity Quad Advisors and Pratt Academic Deans will be available to help you.

Prehealth Welcome Event - HPA 101 – 2:15pm or 3:45pm (White Lecture Hall, East Duke Building)

If you are considering a path in the health professions, this is a foundational orientation experience you won’t want to miss. Join us at either 2:15 pm or 3:45 pm for a brief presentation about how prehealth advising works followed by a group meeting with your assigned advisor. This is an opportunity to discover essential resources for your academic and experiential journey and explore how to make choices that reflect your passions and goals. This session will help you to build community, ask questions, and begin working with your prehealth advisor in a smaller group setting. Early engagement sets the tone for a meaningful and successful prehealth experience at Duke. Registration is highly encouraged. Register here.

Faculty from the Chemistry, Languages, and Math departments will be available to help you with questions about course placement, sequencing, and related academic concerns for their subject areas.
