All GEO and DukeEngage participants must attend this Pre‑Departure Health & Safety Briefing facilitated by the Office of Global Health & Safety (OGHS). This session equips you with key information to support a safe and successful program experience, including how to prepare, access resources, and navigate health and safety situations while away from Duke.

During the briefing, you will:

  • Learn foundational health, safety, and risk management practices
  • Understand what resources and support are available through Duke
  • Review expectations and best practices for program participation
  • Build confidence in responding to incidents or emergencies
  • Connect with peers participating in programs during the same cycle

This OGHS briefing is required for all GEO and DukeEngage students and occurs in addition to your program-specific orientation.
