Sanford Urban Policy is super excited to be hosting a Parks & Policy field trip to Raleigh on Friday November 7th! We will meet with the Assistant Director for Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, tour the downtown park spaces, and have a lunch and learn back at the city offices about the development of the incredible Dix Park. This will be a great opportunity to get out of the Durham bubble, learn about urban planning, and hear more about the many intersectional policy issues that arise around urban parks.

The Raleigh portion of the day will run from 10 am - 12 pm. Please plan for 9 am - 1 pm with transit. There is the option to carpool or to take the (free to Duke students!) DRX bus from the Durham Bus Station to Raleigh. There is a DRX that leaves at 9 am from Durham and multiple in the afternoon, including an 11:57 for anyone needing to get back to class at 1:25.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend so that we can get an accurate headcount for lunch catering!
