About Us

DESTA is a student organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting Ethiopian and Eritrean culture. We provide a welcoming space for all students—regardless of background—who are interested in learning about and engaging with the rich histories, traditions, and contributions of Ethiopia and Eritrea. Through academic discussions, cultural events, and community service, we explore topics such as history, art, food, language, music, literature, and social issues connected to the Ethiopian and Eritrean experience.
