About Us
The Duke University Chess Club strives to promote appreciation for and the learning of chess among members of the Duke and wider Durham communities. We host USCF-rated tournaments and casual events on Duke's beautiful campus. We have been very successful in online collegiate tournaments, such as the Collegiate Chess League, and have participated in the Pan-American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championships and US Amateur Team East. We have an official coach and training program for those interested in improving their chess. We are currently building a small collection of chess-related books in the Duke Libraries.
