As the academic year begins, the Center for Muslim Life invites students, staff, and faculty to join us for Holding On Together, an overnight spiritual retreat focused on connection and reflection. Held in the peace of the outdoors, the retreat is designed to help participants renew and purify their intentions for the year, build bonds of sisterhood and brotherhood, and draw closer to Allah.
The retreat will take place at a local campsite just outside of Durham and will feature outdoor prayer, hiking, guided reflections, inspirational talks, and meaningful campfire conversations. Multiple speakers from Duke and the surrounding area will offer spiritual insights and practical advice as we prepare for the year ahead. Transportation will be provided for students.
Objectives:
1. Deepen spiritual resilience, hope, and trust in Allah through nature-based reflection and community worship.
2. Strengthen bonds of sisterhood and brotherhood across students, staff, and faculty in an open and welcoming environment.
3. Reinforce the CML community as a source of spiritual and emotional support throughout the year.
