Echoes of Gaza. . . As salaamu alakium,
Last week, the Duke community gathered for a powerful and moving vigil organized by Duke Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). In a solemn act of witness, participants held a name-reading ceremony and die-in, creating a space to honor the thousands of Palestinian lives lost in the ongoing genocide.
The air was heavy with remembrance as the names of the killed echoed across the campus space—a poignant testament to the immense scale of devastation.
We are deeply grateful to the organizers and every participant who contributed to this profound act of communal mourning and solidarity. Thank you for creating a space for our community to grieve, reflect, and bear witness together.
PLEASE NOTE: This week,Kitab Connect will be held in the Brodhead Center Meeting Room 248.
