The First 10 Days: A Time of Mercy
As salaamu alakium,
Alhamdulillah, last week we held our first iftar of 2026! It was a beautiful start to this blessed month, and the beginning of CML Ramadan programing. We extend our deepest thanks to Duke Dining for a successful launch and for their continued partnership throughout Ramadan.
Reflecting on the First 10 Days: A Time of Mercy
We are now in the first third of Ramadan, which the Prophet (ﷺ ) described as a time of rahmah—divine mercy. Let us immerse ourselves in this ocean of compassion, both by seeking Allah's forgiveness and by extending kindness to those around us. May these first ten days soften our hearts and draw us closer to the Most Merciful.
Bring a Friend to Iftar: Ramadan is a time for connection, so bring a friend to break fast. CML iftars are open to ALL!
Stay Connected: To stay updated on all things Ramadan—including daily iftar sign-ups (sent at 6:00 AM!), program schedules, and more—make sure you're reading announcements, the CML Connection Newsletter, following us on social media, and visiting the CML website regularly.
Reflections on a Powerful Evening with Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz
On February 17th, a capacity crowd gathered at Penn Pavilion for an unforgettable Black History Month lecture featuring Dr.Ilyasah Shabazz, daughter of Malcolm X.
Dr. Shabazz offered moving reflections on her father's enduring legacy, describing how he "spoke truth" and "gave language to pain so it could become purpose." She emphasized the transformative power of education and self-love as essential tools for social change. We are deeply grateful to all who joined us for this historic evening.
Wishing you all a blessed and full week of fasting.
Join us Monday through Thursday before Isha prayer for our Ramadan Speaker Series.
