About Us
KDSAP at Duke is a new club (created in 2026!) acting as a chapter of the national KDSAP organization.
Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program (KDSAP) at Duke has three key objectives: student career development, community outreach, and leadership development. KDSAP at Duke is a student-run organization targeting college students that aims to provide opportunities for community outreach to raise public awareness and promote early detection of chronic kidney disease (CKD). It is designed to partner with physician volunteers and community members by providing kidney screenings and health education, free of charge, to underserved populations.
KDSAP at Duke offers many innovative programs to benefit its student members, including speaker series each semester that expose students to scientific and medical professions while facilitating the development of mentor-mentee relationships. Members will participate in community outreach and develop leadership and career-development skills by organizing, managing, and running kidney health screenings in medically underserved communities.
