Fellowship: To engender Christian fellowship between Black seminarians, the larger Divinity School, the University and the Durham community.

Education: To ensure the development of theological perspectives, commensurate with traditions of the Black Church and further, to educate the larger community regarding Black Church traditions, theology and experiences in America.

Unity: To foster intentional cooperation between the BSU, the Office of Black Church Studies, Black faculty, and the Black Graduate and Professional Student Association; to maintain ties with Black Divinity School Alumni; and to foster unity between all seminarians regardless of sex, race, and nationality realizing that we are all a part of God's creation.

Support: To serve as an agency of support and advocacy to meet the academic, spiritual, and social needs of Black Seminarians.

BOOST Beyond is an extension program of BOOST (Building Opportunities and Overtures in Science and Technology), a multidimensional pathway program to excite underrepresented minority (URM) students in the Durham Public School system about science. BOOST Beyond serves to expand post-secondary access through individualized mentoring. BOOST Beyond pairs Duke graduate and medical students with BOOST high school mentees to provide individualized guidance on navigating the post-secondary school process, with a specific emphasis on the college application process - making a school list, writing college essays, applying to scholarships, choosing schools, and preparing for the transition to college.

The goal of the Senior Support Program is to serve low-income, older adults in the Durham community and expand access to resources related to health, nutrition, housing, and transportation. We accomplish this goal through weekly well-check calls, resource connection, food delivery, education sessions, and health fairs. The weekly well-check calls are the foundation of the program and volunteers are paired with seniors to provide calls with the goal of establishing an authentic and trusting relationship. These calls allow students to better understand community members outside of the clinical setting and identify areas to address social drivers of health.

DecolPol is a workshop that fosters and facilitates transformational discussion regarding the expansion of policymaking beyond exclusively US-Centered and Westernized approaches. The inclusion and uplifting of global perspectives and issues is a core value of the organization.

DecolPol is a community space to process and air grievances, and discuss what the purpose of an academic institution should be within policymaking. DecolPol recognizes that academic institutions are uniquely positioned to shape the tools of analysis used by future policymakers and is therefore invested in expanding the lens and teachings put forth by these institutions. DecolPol aims to shift the burden away from affected, individual students acting alone to advocate for institutional change by instead forming a collective effort that centers decolonial praxis. Club advocacy and initiatives will be grounded in this practice and driven by the principles of restorative justice.

DecolPol aims to promote and help students conduct research with faculty exploring the application of decolonial studies to policy; identify professors who already conducting similar research to support and foster students' interests in decolonization work; make it easier for students to access decolonization literature by advocating for its integration into syllabi and curriculum.

DecolPol will attend, partner, and organize events in solidarity with existing campus/Durham organizations that share similar values in the advocacy space. It will also provide decolonization resources to other organizations when requested.

DecolPol views community and cultural celebrations as alternative forms of resistance and will foster opportunities for these joyful activities whenever possible.

1. We want to foster a welcoming community within the Nicholas School so that members of disenfranchised groups/communities will feel that they belong here. This means bridging gaps between peoples of various identities by both acknowledging our differences and also learning to recognize shared interests and experiences.

2. We seek to empower members of disenfranchised groups/communities to join the Nicholas School community. This means working with the Nicholas School administration and staff to increase the recruitment rates for students of different races, cultures, gender & sexual identities, levels of ability/disability, socioeconomic classes, countries of origin, religions, ethnicities, etc.

Reducing stigma toward people living with mental illness such that students, faculty, staff, and all members of the local Durham community will feel more comfortable seeking mental and emotional help when recognized as needed and openly discussing mental health and emotional wellbeing related topics
3. Promoting a general awareness of comprehensive "self-health" by emphasizing techniques that care for the body, mind, and spirit
4. Providing students with easy access to information about Eating Disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and other mental health and emotional wellbeing disorders and diseases

DBA is unique in that it is both a university student government and a professional bar association. As such, DBA performs a variety of functions at the law school, including promoting the student body's academic and professional growth, providing opportunities to strengthen the social and intellectual community at the school, and representing the student body to the Law School, the legal profession, and the greater Durham community.

One of the DBA's most significant functions is overseeing the majority of Duke Law's student clubs and organizations. DBA provides assistance and funding to groups looking to hold events, from lunchtime talks to professional symposia. DBA also charters new student groups, to meet the changing needs and interests of the student body. The efforts of student groups are supplemented by DBA's own activities and programs, including athletic leagues, social events, and student fellowships.

DBA also functions as the liaison between students, faculty, and the administration. To that end, DBA sends student representatives to every major faculty committee at Duke Law, including the Admissions, Faculty Appointments, and Planning and Curriculum Committees. This ensures that students are central to all major decisions at Duke Law, from faculty hires to grading system changes. DBA also sends representatives to the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association, and to Duke's Graduate and Professional Student Council.

The goal of the chapter is to provide meaningful ways for students to pursue their interests in biomedical engineering and give access to opportunities that can enhance their academic and professional experiences. This includes mentorship from faculty, alumni, and current students. Our mission aligns with that of the National BMES to "promote and enhance knowledge and education in biomedical engineering and bioengineering worldwide and its utilization for human health and well-being." We promote and facilitate collaborations through an annual on-campus BMES conference, alumni events, poster sessions, and networking events, in order to create a tight-knit Biomedical Engineering community at Duke University. We also maintain close ties to the National BMES with increasing membership and high participation in the National, Local, and Special Topic BMES Meetings.
