Dear RSPr,
I wanted to share some exciting news, Dr. Dow and Dr. Knettel have both extended me the opportunity to begin working with them this year.
I plan to learn and work with both of them in varying capacities, with Dr. Dows' current research as my focus this semester and therefore likely to be what I will present at the conclusion of the house course. I will be learning virtually from her as well as being guided by a member of her team in Tanzania. The eventual goal would be that I would submit an abstract for this publication to the Duke Global Mental Health Conference this fall.
In July of this summer, I plan to begin working with Dr. Knettel on and one of his two upcoming projects, both focused on different forms of mental health interventions for PLWH in Tanzania.
Although there are details to iron out, I feel incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to receive their mentorship and begin to gain hands on experience in an area I am deeply passionate about.
