Supports the sharing of student organization curiosity, interests, and educational aims directly with the broader Duke undergraduate community.

SOFC hosts Funding Hearings every Tuesday, starting at 7:15pm

Requests must be submitted through DukeGroups by Sunday at 7:00 p.m. ET and at least 21 days before the event.

Typical Funding Timeline:

○ Sundays: Applications due for the week by 7 PM ET

○ Mondays: Eligible groups receive an invitation to select a hearing time

○ Tuesdays: SOFC Hearing

○ Wednesdays: DSG Senate Approval (only needed if the request is > $1,500)

○ Thursdays: SOP Finance begins the fund-transfer process

Before You Submit

Before submitting your request, make sure your event is open, accessible, and free to all Duke undergraduates.

Each request must include:

• The required budget template

• Proof of cost for every requested line item

• A registered DukeGroups event

Requests missing the required documentation will not be considered.

Planning Your Event

Some events require additional planning or University approvals before funding can be considered. These may include events involving:

• guest speakers

• paid performers or contracts

• outdoor programming

• large attendance

• political candidates or voter registration

Organizations should also advertise funded events broadly to the Duke undergraduate community.
